There’s a lot of hype around the year 2012. Being not much interested in hype, I haven’t paid attention to the Mayan prophecies (and all the hacks who claim to understand them) until my Jyotisha students recently asked me to run the Vedic astrological chart for December 21, 2012.
Looking at the chart, I was surprised, inspired, and suddenly motivated spiritually. The planetary and stellar configurations for that date signify something rare, something not experienced on Earth for 26,000 years.
It’s a chart like I’ve never seen before.
On the one hand, the heavenly array of planets and stars indicates a fork in the road or two paths going in different directions – a world divided.
The divided world is nothing new. We experience that already now. One side insists on destruction, greed, and enmity. The other reaches for the hope of life’s continued sustenance and growth. And more often both sides exist at the same time in our own self.
Humanity and inhumanity are intimate partners in the world we inhabit, like great brothers of light and dark who wrestle each other for the dominant space. Or like parents who’ve birthed a new Earth and are eager to see how it grows up.
On the other hand, by the astrological configurations we can predict that December 21, 2012 portends a time of disruption, upheaval, calamity and, yet, sanctuary – a shelter from the storm.
How this will take place is difficult to interpret. It could mean a major earth change like we see on the cinema stage – gigantic waves crashing, tectonic plaes moving, and poles shifting. But it also could indicate a similar shift on the level of human consciousness, the invention of new technologies based on spiritual science, and at the same time, the return to our ancestral reliance on and cooperation with nature and its intelligence.
The moment we find ourselves in right now is an urgent time of preparation for a momentous evolutionary shift — one that comes unexpected (and perhaps unwanted) to some and a relief to others.
How should we prepare?
Preparation should be made on the level of collective, deep, transcendental meditation. Meditation is conscious participation in nature’s evolutionary intelligence. And groups of people meditating together empower the positive dharma of nature’s evolution.
We think that events are random and chaotic. Disasters happen for no reason. Death comes as unwelcome guest. Famines and floods have no mercy on the innocent.
But with wise investigation, we detect a pattern – an incredible plan that quantum physicists are describing as “elegant” and “beautiful.”
Something beautiful is unfolding that begs your participation – beyond your thinking, emoting, and fear-based mind. The new Earth will be inhabited by those with expanded consciousness and highly developed technologies of the Self.
Now is the time to cultivate your meditative state of Being – as a conscious participant in the evolutionary shift.
(At Shruti Institute for Vedic Arts we’ve instituted a new program in Vedic Meditation Mastery to provide a valuable opportunity to raise your evolutionary state. For more info, please visit: http://www.shrutiinstitute.com/meditation_mastery2010.html)
